Advent is the time of attention given to celebrating the coming birth of Jesus Christ and the birth of His spirit into the minds and hearts of all.  Advent includes the four Sundays between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Attention which we give to spiritual unfoldment  and growth in understanding will be most rewarding.  John the Baptist was the forerunner of Jesus.  Jesus said of John, “Among them that are born of woman has not arisen one greater than John the Baptist”.  John’s theme was repentance, reminding us to turn our attention from the old ways of thought, feelings, beliefs, words and actions, and turn our consciousness over to God.  He sought purification of our mind and heart, it is our opportunity to do this during Advent.  To repent is to be worried enough about the old ways and give them up.  In this way, we prepare for the birth of the Christ child within us.

In our known civilization, nothing has had or is having the impact of the birth and life that Jesus demonstrated and taught us.  He taught of the spiritual power within each person and assured us that His spirit is with us always; that we can have a personal relationship with God, and to follow Him, believe Him and do His works.

Won’t you believe Him during this Advent season and prepare your way for the birth of Christ in you?  This Spirit will manifest through you, and you will bring forth His nature in and through all phases of your life, both from inner and outer ways.  If you will prepare for the birth of His spirit, the Christ in you, you will experience a wonderful Christmas.

So…Have a very Merry Christmas!
